I have been able to use the wheel and make a successful bowl, which I've been trying to cover with clay strings to make a nest. On Friday, my birds were able to come out of the kiln and I sanded them. I was also able to finish putting the strings on the bowl and put it in the kiln to be fired. Next week I hope to finish glazing the birds and glaze the nest once it is fired.

This week has been very frustrating, as all of my attempts at art haven't been working out. At the beginning of the week, I tried to make a nest of twigs, but it wouldn't take the right shape. Towards the end of the week, I tried to use the wheel to make the nest, but I had to learn how to use it and my first attempts were too big. Hopefully next week I will be able to make a successful nest!
I've been working on these little birds, that will eventually go into my object to art project. There are three birds in total, and they took a lot longer than I was anticipating. Next week, I'm going to try to get the bulk of this new project done, which means tackling the nest, and I'm not sure what the best method and material is for that.
This week, I was able to burn the edges of the wings and hot glue a wire to the back as a hook. I was able to hang them up and finish them for the most part. I'm considering making a couple extra feathers to hang on the wall as well, but I may go on to the next project and leave this one behind. Next week, I'd like to start the next project, which is the object to art piece.
