What is your tray set used for? How does your design make it used for that?Technically speaking, my set isn't a tray. My set is a mug and a stirrer, although sadly, my stirrer broke. It's meant to hold either cold or warm liquids. The mug's design includes a handle for you to hold and a solid piece that doesn't have any holes in it. This allows it to keep the liquid in the mug. How did you come up with your design?I was brainstorming and the thought of a mug handle being a snake came into my mind. I had recently taken the Harry Potter house quiz and found out that I was in Slytherin, so I figured that I could make a mug around that theme. The stirrer was also a wand, which went along with the theme as well. Explain your process and materialsI used regular clay to create the mug, which was done by wrapping it around a PVC pipe. After I scored and slipped the bottom with the rest of the piece, I rolled out the snake handle and attached it in the same way.
For the wand, I rolled out clay like I did for the snake, but I added a handle and left marks in the clay with a scoring rib. After they came out out of the kiln, I added black underglaze in some parts and used regular green, brown, and grey glaze for the rest of it.
